Usva Seregina is a queer, non-binary artist who focuses on critical, political, and feminist themes in their art practice. They explore such topics as identity politics, the influences of normative structures, as well as experiences of immigration and queerness. Usva primarily works through mixed media installations, with painting, printmaking, and collage being a central element of their practice.

Usva is also a researcher in the field on consumer culture research, in which they combine the fields of sociology, aesthetics, performance theory, and theatre studies. They are specifically interested in embodied and spatial experience of fantasy, imagination, and aesthetics, as well as the use of these for public pedagogy and critical reflection. 

Usva’s academic work has highly influenced and become intertwined with their artistic endeavours. In the past years, Usva has been developing various art-based research methodologies.
